At Taiwan's Modern Toilet Restaurant, diners are served meals in miniature ceramic toilet bowls. Each customer dines eating on real bathroom toilet bowls but they have the option to sit on it with or without the covers. Drinks are contained in urinal shaped cup and dessert is elaborately served in squat toilets. You will see all sorts of fancy toilet bowls once you get in.This is as strange a restaurant as it can get. This toilet-themed restaurant is very popular in Taiwan, not only with a branch in Singapore but also can be found in major cities including Beijing, China and Hong Kong.

The design of this restaurant is all about poops including food! Dishes are designed to gross you out. Stew and hot pots are made intentionally mushy, and dessert have peculiar names such as "hemorroid ice", "bloody poop" and "dystentery green". The ice-cream comes shaped like poop, it is the most recommended in this place. Even the sink in this restaurant is a whole toilet bowl modified with a faucet. There also have interesting selection of customized good such as poop shaped keychain, ceramic mugs and everything poop related imaginable which you can buy as a souvenir.

 It all started when one of them was reading the manga, Dr. Slump on the toilet and the rest is history. In the beginning, they mainly sold ice cream, a big pile of chocolate ice cream sold in containers shaped like a squat toilet. After their planning became success, they finally took the first step to launching "Marton Restaurant" in May 2004. At the start, many people peered in at the restaurant trying to figure out what they were selling then had a big smile on their face when they finally worked it out. By continuing to come up with great ideas and making improvements on old ones, they have expanded over the past few years from just ice cream into a fully-fledged theme restaurant with stores all over Taiwan and countries.

 In April 2006, all Marton Restaurants around Taiwan changed their names to "Modern Toilet Restaurant" and currently they are looking for partner interested in restaurant business.

From my opinion, it's creative and they have a good sense of humour but i think it's inappropriate to eat with this environment because it's quite gross.
